Designer of the Month: In Conversation with Jane Charron

Introducing our new section, "Designer of the Month," where we highlight the talented designers who have collaborated with us at TOILE. Each month, we’ll celebrate their unique contributions and the creative partnerships that bring our vision to life. Join us as we explore the artistry and innovation that define our collaborations!
Can you tell us about your journey as a designer? What were some key moments that shaped your career?
I am always grateful to Scott Yetman.
I took a class of Scott’s and then worked for him when he opened the first Celadon selling Farrow & Ball paint, a first for Montreal.
He gave me every opportunity to move forward and he has impeccable taste so was a great influence.
What are some of your main sources of inspiration, and how do they influence your designs?
Fashion has been an important source for me as it was my first career. My eye is always working wherever I am. Always! I like the large pieces of furniture to be simple and then the smaller pieces, or rugs and lighting, are like accessories.
Can you describe the work you've collaborated on with us? What was the concept behind it, and how did the collaboration come to life?
The concept is always about Serenity. The Bedroom need to feel calm and peaceful. You need to sink into that bed and enjoy the comfort. We always achieve this with the Toile team.
What future trends or directions do you see in the textile industry, and how are you preparing to adapt to or shape them?
I think sustainability and Eco friendly materials continue to be in demand. Brands are focusing on this trend and making fabrics like this readily available.
Durability and stain resistant is necessary for multi purpose rooms.
